Meet Ozzie! He is a Hairless Chinese Crested. The Chinese Crested dog is loyal, loving, and weighs between 5-16 pounds. There are several types: Hairless, Hairy Hairless, Very Hairy Hairless, and the Powder Puff. They are temperature-sensitive and need to be bundled up in cold weather and sunscreen is needed for the warm weather. They can acquire acne and other skin problems but the upkeep, if done on a regular basis, is minimal. There are many Chinese Crested dogs in need of a forever home. Please visit the Crested Guardians website for information on how you can foster or adopt one of these wonderful dogs.

Dawn Watson, owner and lead trainer at Brother of the Wolf has officially adopted Ozzie!

If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, adoptive parent, or are able to volunteer in other capacities please apply on our website: www.crestedguardians.com

We will be glad to take your application!

Meet Phoenix!
Phoenix was rescued by Crested Guardians and adopted by Heather Berst, DVM and her husband, Richard. Phoenix was a puppy mill breeder that had spent her entire live in a crate, giving birth again and again. She is just one of the many dogs whose lives were saved by rescue organizations like Crested Guardians. (Iggy & Ziggy Holland, owned by Jen and Randy Holland, were also rescued from the West Virginia puppy mill.) Please visit their website for information on how you can change the life of a little dog in need.

Happy Endings
"Chewey"

Chewey
was recently adopted by a very important lady! She is important because A) She adopted Chewey, Ozzie's brother, B) She is a rescue worker, & C) She is friends with Carly Simon!
Chewey now resides on Martha's Vineyard where he is fussed over by his new mom, the social set on Martha's Vineyard, and Carly & her friends. We are all so happy for him and his new family! Thanks to all who worked so diligently to find him after he escaped from his foster home in Blackwood and helped transport him to his Forever Home!

Hunter (formerly Freckles)relaxes with his mommy on a warm June afternoon. Looks like he's really settled in!!

Update on Hunter

Hunter is shown here river rafting with his mommy, Julie. It turns out that the former Freckles is quite a camper/swimmer/rafter! We are thrilled that Hunter has such a great life! THANK YOU, Julie!

With over fifty years of combined experience in rescuing Chinese Crested dogs, Crested Guardians is a group of dedicated volunteers living across the United States who work together to preserve and protect Chinese Cresteds in need.   It is our mission to make a positive change in the lives of unwanted or abandoned Chinese Crested dogs through transporting, fostering, nurturing, socializing, providing medical care and positive-reinforcement based training.   The ultimate goal of Cresteds Guardians is to place each rescued Crested into a loving forever home.

Freckles' new mommy thought he looked cold when he first arrived in his new home up north so she bundled him up for the last leg of  his journey. Doesn't he look warm & cozy on his new daddy's lap?!

Crested Guardians is always looking for foster parents or forever parents for Chinese Crested or Chinese Crested mixed breed dogs. If you are up to the task please visit our website at www.crestedguardians.com

You'll be helping to save the world, one dog at a time!
